The third annual Strike Out Cancer Wiffle Ball Tournament Saturday at Carnival Hill in Wilton raised $3,000 for the Strike Out Cancer charity, which will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Tournament organizer Shane Meltzer’s then-11-year-old son Ezra came up with the idea as a way to help his grandfather, who was battling cancer at the time, and raise money for cancer research. Ezra’s grandfather attended the tournament the first year before eventually dying of cancer, and the tournament is now held in honor of “Zampa.”

The tournament drew 10 teams, with “The Team” of Elliot O’Brien, Luke Green, Cameron Butt and Max Cote winning the tournament. After losing their first game, they beat the two-time defending champions The Aces before defeating the Slicers, who had been undefeated, twice in the finals to win the championship.
