On March 22, at 1:34 p.m., the Francestown Police and Fire departments were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash near Route 136 and Bible Hill Road in Francestown.

While en route, emergency personnel were advised that the vehicle had sustained heavy damage and that the airbags had deployed.

When first responders arrived, they found the operator was not at the scene.

“Just as Officer Julianne Wigsten arrived on scene, she was notified that the operator, who was not wearing any clothing, had returned to the vehicle,” stated Francestown Police Chief Mark Philbert.

After the scene was secured, EMS personnel treated the driver for cuts and bruises, and Mikeโ€™s Towing was called to remove the vehicle.

EMS then transported the operator to the hospital because of possible internal injuries.

Mikeโ€™s Towing called for a second wrecker to remove the large amount of debris caused by the crash.

“Officer Wigsten followed the ambulance to the hospital to gather evidence in the incident, as there is suspicion of the operator being under the influence,” Philbert states.

As of Monday morning, no charges had been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
