The Antrim Select Board reminds residents and businesses that placing advertising or political signs on utility poles or public property is illegal under state and local law.
New Hampshire RSA 236:75 bans advertising on utility poles, and RSA 664:17 restricts political signage in public rights-of-way. Article XVII, Paragraph C, 6 of Antrimโs sign ordinance prohibits signs on public property or within a right-of-way unless installed or ordered by a government body. Commercial signs are not allowed in these areas.
The Select Board may remove and dispose of any illegal signs. Residents and businesses with signs in violation are asked to take them down by Thursday, Aug. 1.
