Hancock Town Library, 25 Main St., will host a summer reading kickoff event with a falconry demonstration by Henry Walters on Monday, June 30, at 6:30 p.m. at Moose Brook Park, behind the fire station.
Walters will introduce attendees to his hawk, Mahood, and share information about falconry and raptor behavior. Audience members may have the chance to let Mahood land on their arm and offer him a treat. The program is free and open to all ages. Dogs are not allowed, as they may frighten the hawk.
