MacDowell will honor Chilean-born artist Alfredo Jaar during its 65th annual Medal Day celebration Sunday, June 29, from 12:15 to 4 p.m. at 100 High St., Peterborough. The event is free and open to the public.

Jaar, known for his work as an artist, architect and filmmaker, will be recognized for his contributions to American visual arts. Three of his neon installations will be on view: โ€œBe Afraid of the Enormity of the Possible,โ€ โ€œI Canโ€™t Go On. Iโ€™ll Go Onโ€ and โ€œTeach Us To Outgrow Our Madness.โ€

Works will be displayed near the main hall and throughout the James Baldwin Library, which will remain open after the ceremony with additional video clips.
