The Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main St., will host “Hospital of the Innocent: A Mixed-Media Reflection on the Threshold of Adolescence” by April Claggett through Aug. 2.

An opening reception will take place Friday, June 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., and a “Meet the Artist” event is scheduled for Friday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Claggett’s work examines adolescence through mixed-media assemblages combining paintings, ceramics, found objects and text. Inspired by William Blake, Della Robbia’s Renaissance medallions and her own style of realism, the exhibit explores vulnerability, transition and loss of innocence.

Claggett is a multidisciplinary artist and professor based in Dublin, with a studio in Wilton.

Admission is free. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Details are at jaffreyciviccenter.com.
