Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough is expanding its maternity services by reintroducing in-person tours, childbirth education classes and postpartum support groups at its Birthing Suite.

According to a release from the hospital, this initiative aims to provide comprehensive support to families throughout their pregnancy and parenting journey.

“For more than a century, Monadnock Community Hospital has been part of the most meaningful moments in our patients’ lives,” stated Aleyah Vaillancourt, registered nurse at the Birthing Suite. “The Birthing Suite, along with our classes and support groups, reflects our commitment to providing families with the care, knowledge, and sense of connection they need to embrace parenthood with confidence.”

Services offered include:

— Private birthing rooms: Equipped with amenities such as microwaves, refrigerators, sleeping accommodations for support persons and ambient lighting systems. Options like soaking tubs and the “Rain Room” jetted shower are available to support various birthing preferences.

— Childbirth education classes: Expert-led sessions covering labor preparation and practical skills for early parenthood.

— Postpartum support groups: Facilitated sessions offering guidance on recovery, breastfeeding, and emotional wellness, fostering connections among new parents.
