Artificial intelligence and its impact on national security will be the focus of the next Great Decisions program at the Mariposa Museum, 26 Main St., Peterborough, on Thursday, April 3, at 7 p.m.
Part of a nationwide series on world affairs organized by the Foreign Policy Association, the session will feature a video and a moderated discussion led by Peterborough residents Robert Beck, a retired foreign policy official; and Peter Henriques, a retired international business executive.
Topics will include the potential risks and benefits of AI, including its use in surveillance, media manipulation and decision-making. Background materials by Stanford University’s Julie George are available at the Mariposa Museum and the Peterborough Town Library.
The program is free; donations are welcome. Registration is requested at mariposamuseum.org or by calling 603-924-4555. Study guides can be ordered at fpa.org/great_decisions or by calling 800-477-5836.
