Peterborough Town Library will host the second program in its Natural NH Winter Series on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at 2 Concord St., Peterborough.
Dylan Summers of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests will present โTrail History and Trail Design,โ exploring the history of trail-building in the Northeast. He will discuss how early trails were designed, the challenges of maintaining aging paths and how modern trail workers are using new and old techniques to improve longevity.
Summers, a New Hampshire native, has built and maintained trails professionally in New Hampshire, Utah and Colorado. He now manages trail maintenance and recreation projects across more than 200 properties for the forest society.
The program is free and open to all. Parking is limited, and attendees are encouraged to use downtown lots. For details, visit peterboroughtownlibrary.org or call 603-924-8040.
