Peterborough Players will present Dominque Morisseau’s drama, “Pipeline,” Aug. 3 to 13.
“Pipeline” shines a light on the human instinct of protecting loved ones. When Omari gets into trouble at school — the private school his mother Nya had hoped would secure his future — she is faced with the unintended consequences of choices made in the hopes of protecting her son. The fractured family structure resulting from her divorce and enrollment at a private high school intended to lift up Omari have left him, instead, feeling singled out and alone.
Antu Jacob and C.J. Lindsey star. Director Kevin R. Free returns to the Players after last year’s “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill” to lead the production.
“Pipeline confronts us with behaviors and emotions that we all recognize even though they arise out of circumstances few of us will ever confront” stated Free.
Shows are at 7:30 p.m., with the exception of Aug. 5, 6, 12, and 13, when they are at 4 p.m. There is no show Monday, Aug. 7. Tickets are $49. Be advised the play contains depictions of violence and discussion of self-harm.
