People can bring up to 25 books to Book Donation Saturday on July 8 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bean Room on the main level of Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St.

Friends of the Library volunteers review all books before accepting donations. Recent paperback and hardback fiction, including mysteries and thrillers are popular, but memoirs, biographiesย and other nonfiction also sell well. The Friends canโ€™t accept magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, travel guides, medical, financial adviceย and computer books, asย they become outdated quickly. All books should be in good condition with no underlining, strainsย or torn pages.

These second Saturdays of each month are the only times book donations can be accepted. People should not bringย boxes or bags of books to the library staff or leave them in the outside book drop. Funds raised by book sales help support library services and programs.
