Party of the Sun kicks off summer concerts at Peterborough Town Library with an outdoor performance on the library terrace Friday June 23, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the library’s summer reading kickoff. The show will take place rain or shine and move inside if needed.
Party of the Sun is a psychedelic folk band from New Hampshire consisting of Ethan McBrien, Rory Hurley and Garrett Cameron. Families are encouraged to sign their children up for the summer reading program during the concert. Registered children will receive a reading log to track 10 hours of reading and help them keep important reading and comprehension skills active during the summer.
Reading logs will be due by Aug. 3, and each person who completes the program receives a free book. The library will host an American roots band on July 20 and FolkSoul on Aug. 3. All shows are free and open to all ages.
Peterborough Town Library is at 2 Concord St. in Peterborough and is open Monday to Saturday. For information on this program or any library services, visit the library website or call 603-924-8040.
