Chris Myott of Jaffrey is part of New Hampshire Antique Co-op’s new exhibit, “In Full Bloom: Floral Still Life & Garden Paintings from the 19th c. to Present.”
The exhibit features works from artists of the late 1800s to the present, capturing spring and summer through paintings of flourishing flowers, gardens lush landscapes. The exhibit will be on display until Aug. 31, 2023, in the fine art gallery at New Hampshire Antique Co-op, located at 323 Elm St. in Milford.
In addition to Myott, the display includes work by Lilla Cabot Perry (1848-1933), a Boston native who had a home and studio in Hancock.
Myott received a bachelor’s degree in studio arts at Chester College and later apprenticed at Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art. His modernist wax, oil and graphite works are in collections throughout New England and beyond, and have been featured in Iron and Air magazine, as well as Yankee magazine and other publications.
Perry had the opportunity in the late 19th century to live next door to Claude Monet in Giverny, France for 10m years. Monet encouraged her Impressionist style, which she brought back to Boston, where she lectured to the Boston Art Students Association on Monet and Impressionism.
