The Peterborough Affordable Housing Committee will hold free seminars on accessory dwelling units (ADUs) June 14 at 6 p.m. and June 17 at 10 a.m.

The seminars are titled “Accessory Dwelling Units Made Easy: How to Add a Small, Secondary Home to Your Property.” The same seminar will be offered both days to accommodate the schedules of community members.

The goals of the seminar are to introduce the concept of ADUs to the public, provide an overview of what participants may experience as an ADU owner or occupant, inform attendees about the ADU building and permitting process and educate attendees on what financing is available for a project of this type and what the return on investment could be.

Panelists will include Town Planner Danica Melone, Jaime Frederes, senior vice president/director of residential lending at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, a local ADU owner, local builders and an ADU occupant.

Registration is required by Friday, June 9. To register, go to tinyurl.com/easyadu.
