The Bennington Recreation Committee held a board game event on Sunday in the VFW Train Depot. They’ve been holding game day meet-ups every other week since January. During the events the committee offers a variety of games and people can drop in to play in a casual environment.

“A lot of people think of board games like Monopoly or Sorry,” said Alex Crews, who was leading the game Unearthed, which he described as a set collection game, “There’s a rich market for modern board games.” He explained there’s 30 genres of board games so “there’s something for you.”

Jessie Crews, Chair of the Bennington Recreation Committee, said they’re still fine-tuning how the events will work. She said they’ve gotten a lot of people from Antrim and are thinking about switching off some weeks at the train depot and other weeks in Antrim.

People of all levels are welcome at the events and they’ll keep the public updated on Facebook.
