A pickup truck ended up in the Contoocook River after leaving the Route 202 roadway on Monday afternoon.

According to police reports, at 3:42 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash on Route 202, also known as Peterborough Street, on the curve near the D.D. Bean factory. Police were advised the vehicle had gone into the river, but all occupants had been able to exit.

An employee of D.D. Bean who witnessed the accident reported that the vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, was traveling north on Peterborough Street when it appeared to lose control, hit the guardrail and went into the river.

The driver, Isabella Ruschioni, 19, of Winchendon, Mass., and two passengers were taken to the Monadnock Community Hospital to be evaluated.

The truck was removed from the river by J&J Truck Service of Troy, before being towed from the scene by Gauthier’s Auto Repair.
