Peterborough Town Library will begin its winter storytime block Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Weekly early literacy programs will be held for two different age groups for six weeks. Register at peterboroughtownlibrary.org so the library can prepare materials.

Preschool Storytime will be on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m from Jan. 17th through Feb. 21.  The group reads picture books together and simple songs and movement are offered between stories. A craft is created after each story time. All preschoolers who enjoy singing, moving, sitting and listening to stories, and their caregivers, are welcome. This program is recommended for children 2 to 5, but siblings are welcome.

Baby Storytime will be on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. from Jan. 18 through Feb. 22.  Babies and their caregivers gather to sing songs, chant nursery rhymes, read board books, enjoy lap bounces and have playtime together. Baby story time is for babies from birth to age 2 and their caregivers, but siblings are welcome.

Storytime is intended to develop a love of stories and make children more comfortable and excited about visiting the library. People should let the library know how it may ensure this program is accessible for their families. Public Services Librarian Aimee LaRue and Youth Services Librarian Lisa Bearce are available to discuss in-person or by phone or email.

All library events are free and open to the public.

Peterborough Town Library is at 2 Concord St. in Peterborough. For more information on this program or any others, visit peterboroughtownlibrary.org or call 603-924-8040.
