The Film Club at Peterborough Town Library will screen the film “I Know Where I’m Going,” written and directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 6:15 p.m. in the 1833 Room at the library, 2 Concord St.

“I Know Where I’m Going” is a romantic comedy that flourishes in an unlikely place – the bleak and moody Scottish Hebrides. Wendy Hiller stars as a headstrong young woman who travels to these remote isles to marry a rich lord. Stranded by stormy weather, she meets a handsome naval officer (Roger Livesey) who threatens to thwart her carefully laid-out life plans.

Similar to a book club, the PTL Film Club watches films together and participates in discussion. Discussions are led by Mark Holding, a film studies professor, and explore theme, direction, characterization and more. Snacks and drinks are served, and registration is not required.

The film club typically meets the second Tuesday of the month. The next lineup of film club picks will be announced in January. All films are screened with permission from Swank Movie Licensing USA.
