This election is a critical one for Democrats and our democracy. I was surprised, and encouraged, when I saw that Jonah Wheeler was the top vote-getter in the primaries, against two incumbents, in Peterborough.
He proves that young people can be a positive force of change. We need more young people to be proactive, not only to run for office, like Wheeler, but also to volunteer to help out at the polls and most importantly to simply vote.
Apathy is the true enemy to democracy. So, if women want control of their own bodies, if young people want meaningful gun control laws enacted, if seniors want to keep Social Security and Medicare and if we want to keep radical extremists out of positions of authority, we all must do what has to be done and vote for common-sense Democratic issues.
I appeal to all, young and old, men and women, to get to the polls in November, and to vote for Democrats.
