The Greenville 150th Committee is challenging residents to prove their town knowledge with a scavenger hunt Saturday, Oct. 15.
Te hunt starts at the Chamberlin Free Public Library in downtown Greenville. Charlie Buttrick, one of the hunt’s organizers, said the clues will lead residents to significant sites in town that were important either to the town’s past or present. At each station, residents will find a specific number or letter they will have to write down, to prove they both figured out the clue and visited the location.
Some sites can be reached by foot, but others will require driving, Buttrick advised.
Registration for the event opens at 9 a.m., and the first clue is handed out starting at 10 a.m. There is no cost for registration. The hunt ends at 2 p.m.
All residents who complete the entire hunt and turn in their answers back at the library will have their name entered into a prize draw for Greenville-themed merchandise, such as a T-shirt, hat or mug.
