Friends of the Library will be collecting books for the Jaffrey Public Library book sale Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bean Room on the main level of the library, 38 Main St.
People can bring up to 15 books in good condition, and volunteers will screen them and potentially add them to the sales. These Saturdays are the only times book donations can be accepted; people should not take any boxes or bags of books to the library staff or leave them in the outside book drop.
The criteria for accepting books are posted by the book sale locations on the main floor and the lower level across from the water fountain. Recent hardback and paperback fiction books are popular, but nonfiction and children’s books also sell well. Magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, travel guides, medical, financial advice, and computer books are not accepted becaue they become outdated quickly.
Funds raised by the Friends of the Jaffrey Library help support library services, including T-Mobile Hot Spots, museum and park passes such as the New Hampshire State Park Pass, databases such as ancestry.com and programs.
Two more book donation Saturdays are scheduled for 2022, on Nov. 12 and Dec. 10.
