Linda Harris, executive director of Shelter From The Storm in Jaffrey, will be among those honored by MCVP: Crisis & Prevention Center during its 16th annual meeting and awards night Oct. 3.

MCVP: Crisis & Prevention Center is the domestic and sexual violence crisis center for Cheshire County and 14 towns in Hillsborough County. Each year, its annual meeting brings together community members and organizations that are working above and beyond to support survivors in the Monadnock region. Along with Harris, this year’s award winners are Deputy Matthew Sands of Cheshire County Sheriff’s Department, Det. Lt. Melissa Evans of Hinsdale Police Department, Monadnock Regional School District, Surry Village Charter School, Becky Kohler of Chesterfield School, Kristina Wentzell of Fine Art/Catbird Flower Farm, Lynne Samuelson of RSVP Volunteer Center, Polyonics and Jeff Maher of Keene State College.

The ceremony will be held in-person from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cheshire Hall, 12 Court St. in Keene. It is free and open to the public. Registration is requested and can be done at bit.ly/3QWm5gK.

The award categories are Partners in Justice, Partner in Prevention, Partners in Education, Above & Beyond Business Partner, Outstanding Volunteer, Doug Austin White Ribbon Award, Outstanding Holiday Families Sponsor, Outstanding Volunteer Group and Above & Beyond Community Partners. The award-winners are nominated by MCVP advocates and are voted on by the entire team.

During the event, attendees will hear from advocates and board members as they share what these community members are doing to stop and prevent violence in the community, in addition to crisis intervention and prevention education updates.
