A planning meeting for the Wilton/Lyndeborough Community Day of Service Oct. 15 will take place Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Wilton Collaborative Space, 25 Gregg St. in Wilton.
The service day will involve a variety of volunteer projects to get work done in the community while raising funds for the Open Cupboard Food Pantry. The project will match people who want to perform needed work with those who would sponsor them to do this work. Projects available include stenciling storm drains (“No Dumping,” “Drains to River”), removing invasive plans from town property, roadside trash pickup, assisting seniors or veterans with outdoor cleanup, cleaning the Historical Society rooms, doing trail work and assisting with fall cleanup at the Community Garden.
The project is a collaboration between the Wilton Community Center, the Second Congregational Church, the Wilton Collaborative Space and the Lions Club.
