I was a public school teacher for almost 50 years and have been retired for the past three years. Although my personal priorities have somewhat changed since I retired to include issues facing seniors, public education has always been, and will continue to be at the top of my priority list when deciding who gets my vote.

I conscientiously research all candidates who support and represent public education and the needs of our students at the local, state and national levels before casting my vote. Peter Leishman is a tireless advocate for teachers and students in our local schools. In 2010, Peter was instrumental in securing the last building loan issued for the Mascenic Regional School District, enabling the communities of Greenville and New Ipswich build the outstanding Highbridge Hill Elementary School. We were in critical need of a new building and Peter came to our rescue by lobbying the Finance Committee for the funds needed. He subsequently secured those desperately needed funds.

Peter Leishman has always been a hard-working advocate for the members of our community. He is well aware of the vital role that education plays in building a solid foundation, the sustainability of our towns and its critical contribution to the future of our state. I am reaching out to the citizens of District 33 asking that you cast your vote for Rep. Peter Leishman on Sept. 13, so he can continue his invaluable service representing us in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
