Curious and care about your land or surroundings? Check out University of New Hampshire Extension’s Coverts Project. The NH Coverts Project trains volunteers in wildlife conservation, forest stewardship and effective outreach.

NH Coverts volunteers are landowners, local decision-makers, teachers, business people, writers, retirees — anyone who wants to help wildlife in New Hampshire. UNH Extension is looking for landowners and other individuals committed to wildlife conservation and forest stewardship. If you have time in your schedule for the training workshop, and approximately 40 hours of volunteer outreach during the coming year (it may be volunteer work you are already doing), then you should check it out at extension.unh.edu/resource/how-become-nh-coverts-volunteer and request an application at unh.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_08L5WRDB8UfNuy9.

You can also contact Haley Andreozzi, wildlife conservation state specialist, at 603-609-0927 or haley.andreozzi@unh.edu. I completed the Coverts Project this past spring, and my appreciation and understanding of my land and of New Hampshire’s wildlife and habitat has grown exponentially.
