Union Congregational Church, 33 Concord St. in Peterborough, will present “Growing Up In Peterborough in the ’50s and ’60s” Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 4 p.m.

Jimmy Smith, who grew up in Peterborough and was a member of Union Congregational Church in 1949, will offer a presentation on what Peterborough was like back then, covering the businesses that were in town at that time, where they were located and how the owners and employees contributed to the social climate. He will also touch on the various faith communities and their activities during those decades.

The presentation is free and open to all.
