The Town of New Ipswich fireworks ordinance requires people to have a permit to light fireworks.

To obtain a permit, a person is required to meet with Fire Chief Meredith Lund or her designee to get permission. It will then be forwarded to Police Chief Michael Abel and the selectmen for their approval, so allow at least seven business days for this approval process.

When fully approved, applicants will be contacted and the signed permit will be emailed, or they can pick it up in the town office; see Susan Mallett in the Land Use Department to pick up the permit. The cost for a fireworks permit it $15 and can be paid with cash or check.

For information, call the Fire Department at 603-878-1364. The town fireworks ordinance, fireworks safety brochure and permit application can be found at townofnewipswich.org.
