The Peterborough Town Library’s book club title for June will be “Collected Poems” by Sonia Sanchez.
“Collected Poems,” is a collection of Sanchez’s work over the four decades of her literary career. She was a founder of the Black Arts movement, and will receive the Edward MacDowell Medal at a ceremony on the MacDowell grounds Sunday, July 10. The book club is partnering with MacDowell, which provided copies of the book. Library card-holders may pick up a copy of the book at the library help desk.
The book club discussion will be Monday, June 20, at 6 p.m. at Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St., and is open to the public. The event includes a virtual visit with Sanchez, who will speak on her work and take questions.
