Peterborough crews responded to a vehicle fire on Route 101 on Sunday night.
Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker said a driver was traveling on Route 101 at about 8:30 p.m., and had stopped at the lights at the Route 101 and Route 202 intersection, when other drivers began honking and trying to flag him down, to alert him that the trailer he was towing was on fire. The driver pulled to the side of the road. By the time fire crews arrived, the trailer was fully involved, Walker said.
โThe trailer and all its contents were a total loss,โ Walker said.
Crews remained on scene for about 30 minutes extinguishing the trailer.
The trailer was a Vintage model 40-foot racecar trailer with a sleeping unit. No one was in the trailer at the time, and no one was injured. The trailer was disconnected from the towing vehicle prior to the truck taking any damage.
