To the Peterborough voters, a sincere thank you to the 268 voters who attended the open session and cast their vote on Article 14. Although the article passed by a wide margin, the honest and thoughtful comments and questions raised, and in the run-up to the meeting, indicate that we still have a long way to go in developing a plan that meets the community’s needs and our constraints.
As we continue through the process, I would encourage all of you to take the Select Board up on their offer to stay engaged in the process. Learn about your fire and ambulance service, our work and how it relates to our facility. Get involved in the various committees that will be guiding this planning, make your voice heard and continue to ask questions. Lots of your fellow residents have set the stage for where we are now but, as was pointed out, there are still a number of unanswered questions and a long way to go.
Again, thank you for your affirmation of our needs and please stay engaged as we design the new fire and ambulance facility.
