I am writing in support of Article 14 on the warrant for the May 11 Peterborough Town Meeting.
During my nearly eight years as a member of the Peterborough Select Board, I worked and interacted with all three of our current Select Board members, the town administrator and her staff, and I trust them fully. I support their innovative plan to secure funding for the badly needed facility for our fire and rescue and ambulance staff and all their equipment and vehicles. As Bill Taylor wrote in his opinion article in the April 28 edition of the Ledger-Transcript (“Town: Bond is needed for fire station”), the Select Board is already working hard with state and federal representatives to commit to assist us with funding, but we need a full set of plans for this to happen. For that reason, it is essential that you vote yes on Article 14.
I urge you to go to the Upper Hall at the Peterborough Town Hall on Grove Street May 11 at 7 p.m. and cast your yes vote for Article 14.
