The front yard at Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church will be left unmown throughout May, as the church is taking part in the No Mow May movement.
No Mow May is a conservation initiative first popularized by Plantlife, an organization based in the United Kingdom. The goal is to allow grass to grow during May, creating habitat and forage for early season pollinators. By doing so, PUUC hopes to inspire consideration of sustainable landscapes, and the positive effects they have on pollinators and the environment.
No Mow May supports the Seventh Principle of Unitarian Universalism, “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” Go to uupeterborough.org for information.
