Volunteers, including members of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey and football teams, the Jaffrey Department of Public Works and workers from Atlas Pyrotechnics loaded four trucks with boxes of donations for Ukrainian refugees at the Monadnock Plaza in Jaffrey Friday morning.
Residents donated 360 boxes worth of items, from 240 individual donations. A total of 166 people volunteered to help sort and box items and load trucks for delivery to Derry to be consolidated with other local donations before being shipped to Poland by the organization NuDay to provide relief to refugees of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Four trucks, including two donated by Atlas Pyrotechnics, were filled to the brim with donations.
