To the voters of Rindge and Jaffrey, I have been privileged to serve as the Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District moderator (SAU47) since 2014, at which time my predecessor, David Tower, decided to step down after more than years. I was delighted that David asked me if I would be willing to run for the office, given my 30-plus years previous experience serving as town moderator in Merrimack and Amherst.

It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Rindge and Jaffrey as your school district moderator. A moderator is the servant of the people, as she or he is elected to be fair and impartial when presiding over the annual school district deliberative session. A good moderator manages the orderly meeting process fairly and impartially to ensure that all who attend have the right and opportunity to speak and be heard, ask questions of the school board, offer an opinion, debate or discuss a school warrant and propose an amendment to the warrant that is being discussed if they choose to do so.

I welcome the opportunity to serve again, and respectfully ask for your vote on March 8.

Robert Schaumann

School district moderator, Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District (SAU47)
