On the second Thursday of the month, writers of all ages are invited to an open mic hosted by the Peterborough Town Library and Monadnock Underground. The next open mic will be Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s new community room.

“Each month, between eight and 10 writers take the stage and share their work. It is a very supportive environment, and often we have writers who are reading for the first time to an audience. It’s a great stage for young writers and parents are encouraged to bring their kids,” stated Library Director Corinne Chronopoulos.

The event is managed by Monadnock Underground, a community of writers who are publishing work online and in various print publications and anthologies. They have published two literary magazine anthologies, four collections of writings and two books. Their work celebrates the writers of the Monadnock Region and beyond. Writers and listeners may show up anytime after 5:30pm. To reserve a spot to read, register at peterboroughtownlibrary.libnet.info/event/6029435. Writers may also sign up at the event.
