Mariposa Museum of World Cultures, 26 Main St., Peterborough, will host an in-person embroidery workshop with Sara K. Benning Saturday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The Kopanang Universe Canticle, now on exhibit, showcases embroidered panels showing the earth’s evolution by women of South Africa’s Kopanang Community. This hands-on embroidery workshop will introduce anyone interested in learning the basic skills of embroidery, as well as the elements of creating personal designs.

Benning is a Keene-based artist and do-it-yourself designer who creates hand-stitched artworks and DIY kits and patterns. Advance registration and workshop fee of $50 to cover material costs is  required. An adult and child pair may share one set of materials. Masks and proof of vaccination are required to attend.
