Call it stunning, call it handsome, call it a community asset, but calling the Peterborough Library “energy-efficient” is greenwashing. There is no way that the huge expanse of glass was the best choice in terms of energy use no matter how “green” the choice. Aesthetics beat out concern for the cost of energy in economic and environmental terms. Please be honest about that. It is a disservice to the community to do otherwise.
