Area hospitals are planning a series of COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the region.

Monadnock Community Hospital is offering COVID-19 booster shots for their primary care patients only. Pfizer and Moderna boosters are available.  Patients can call their primary care office for more information and to schedule their booster shot.

For those who received the Pfizer-BioNtech or ModernaCOVID-19 vaccine, the FDA and CDC have authorized COVID-19 booster shots for anyone 18 years and older who received the vaccine 6 or more months ago. The CDC also recommends a second shot for anyone 18 years or older who received the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine 2 or more months ago.

Non-MCH patients can visit www.vaccines.gov to get answers to questions or help finding a vaccine. For those without internet access, please call 1-800-232-0233.

Monadnock Community Hospital and the Greater Monadnock Public Health Network (GMPHN) held a public COVID-19 vaccine clinic Nov. 20, where 234 vaccines were administered.

“Vaccines are the best way to protect ourselves and others from becoming seriously ill with COVID-19,” said MCH President and CEO Cyndee McGuire. “The number of patients becoming ill with COVID-19 and needing hospitalization or emergency department care is at its highest point in our region since the pandemic started in March 2020.  This is putting an unprecedented strain on every New Hampshire hospital’s resources.  As we manage this difficult situation, we ask for patience and understanding from all seeking care at the hospital.”

The next MCH- and GMPHN-hosted clinic is planned for Dec. 11 at New Ipswich Family Medicine from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The following upcoming clinics are offered through the Greater Monadnock Public Health Network and are walk-in clinics only, no registration required. The GMPHN only carries Pfizer and J&J (no Moderna). For those needing a Moderna booster who are not an MCH patient, please visit www.vaccines.gov to schedule your appointment.
