On Nov. 8, Kim Cutler gave a floral design presentation to members of Peterborough Garden Club.
Cutler is an award-winning floral designer from Massachusetts known for her contributions to the Worcester Art Museum’s “Flora in Winter” event. The audience was advised to “think of the lines in the arrangement,” whether it is horizontal, connecting a row of matching containers or a floating display, and to think of the base as well as the top. She incorporated different textures with a punch of color.
She also presented buying and storing tips, as well as green solutions to the non-eco-friendly floral foam. She designed five varied arrangements, which were raffled off at the end of the meeting. The club met at Bass Hall respecting full pandemic protocols.
Peterborough Garden Club was organized in 1962. Today there are 70 members. The club’s purpose is to encourage and stimulate interest in the beautification of home and public properties, and to study and share information on gardening, horticulture, conservation, flower-arranging and related topics. All are welcome to join. For information, visit peterboroughgardenclub.org.
