Conant loses pair of one-goal games
The Orioles lost both their games last week by a score of 3-2.
On Wednesday at home against Hillsboro-Deering, Conant scored twice, as senior Kendall Chamberlain fed a perfect through ball to senior Heather Gonyea for an early goal, and Morgan Ketola drew a penalty leading to a Jenna Harvey penalty kick score. But the Hillcats made a trio of nice plays to go ahead, and stayed there.
On Friday at Derryfield School, Gonyea fed Jordan Morace-Tirrell with a cross for a quick Conant score and then took another good pass from Chamberlain to put the Orioles up 2-1 in the second half before the Cougars came back and took the lead.
“We regained control over the final 10 minutes,” coach Adam Patria said. “Had quality chances, but fell short.”
Conant (2-10) is at WLC Monday at 5:15 p.m.
