Antrim Grange #98 will host its annual Penny Sale on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the front lawn of the Antrim First Presbyterian Church on Main Street. All money raised at this event will go towards the Antrim Grange Hall Restoration Fund.

For those that are new to a penny sale, you can purchase a sheet of tickets that includes 25 individual tickets and one door prize ticket. Tickets for the sale are $2 per sheet or three sheets for $5. Names, phone numbers and ticket numbers are written down so you do not need to be present when the winning numbers are called.

You tear apart the tickets and place the door prize ticket into a door prize jar only. With the smaller tickets, you place however many you like into the jar in front of an item you might like to win. At the end of the sale, organizers will start calling winners for each item and door prize at 3 p.m. Those not present will be called to arrange pickup if they win. Pickup will be at the Antrim Grange Hall on Route 31 on Sunday, Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon unless other arrangements can be made.

Due to numerous donations of items from local supporters this year, the Grange is in the planning stages of a โ€˜donations accepted yard saleโ€™ to take care of excess donated items. This is tentatively scheduled to take place Sept. 11 at the Antrim Grange Hall. Times and dates will be posted in the near future as plans are solidified. Proceeds from the sale will go toward the Antrim Grange Restoration Fund.
