The Rindge Swap Shop is now open one day a week after being closed for more than a year due to COVID-19.

The Swap Shop, located at the Rindge Transfer Station, is a place for still-good items can be made for residents to donate or claim.

The shop has been closed since March of 2020, when many non-essential businesses and town functions shut down, and has remained closed since, Town Administrator Sara Gravell.

โ€œWe know there is a need for this, both for people to drop off items, and certainly to go through and get items from there,โ€ Gravell said. โ€œThat has always been an understanding.โ€

The town will continue to reevaluate the shopโ€™s hours based on the results of the limited opening.

However, the Swap Shop will only be open on a limited basis, on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rather than being open during all Transfer Station hours, Gravell said.

โ€œ(Department of Public Works Director Mike Cloutier) wants to see how things go on a limited basis first,โ€ Gravell said. The town has not put strict COVID-19 guidelines on the use of the shop, such as requiring masks, beyond the current state best practices guidelines.
