Franklin Pierce University announced Tuesday that alumna Genevieve McGillicuddy has been elected to serve as a member of its Board of Trustees.
McGillicuddy, who graduated FPU in 1994, is vice president, enterprises and strategic partnerships at Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in Atlanta, Georgia. She brings experience in marketing and leadership to her role on the board of trustees.
Franklin Pierce is preparing to embark on its next five-year strategic plan in a higher education landscape impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The university recently completed an academic reorganization that created the College of Business, the College of Health and Natural Sciences and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Students earn degrees through the doctoral level in classroom-based and online programs.

McGillicuddy rose from marketing manager at Turner Classic Movies to her current position as vice president, enterprises and strategic partnerships. She is a film industry leader with responsibility for creating, promoting, publicizing, directing and executing high-profile and world-class festivals and events. Prior to her career at TCM, she provided marketing and operational leadership for a start-up independent entertainment company, and a film industry non-profit organization.
McGillicuddy received the Fitzwater Medallion for Leadership in Public Communication from Franklin Pierce University in 2015, and a Peabody Award for Turner Classic Movies in 2008.
McGillicuddy came to Franklin Pierce University from Nashua, and graduated with her bachelorโs degree in English in 1994. She earned a masterโs degree in film studies at Emory University in Atlanta, and attended the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute for Women in Cable Telecommunications. Her volunteer work includes serving as a board member for the Atlanta Jewish Film Society, as past chair of the Circle Mentoring program for Turner Broadcasting, and as a member of the board of Turner Women.ย
