A man was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital on Wednesday morning with non-life threatening injuries after a motor vehicle crash on Route 124.

The driver, Richard Riley, 49, of New Ipswich, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet van when he lost control of the vehicle at around 11:30 a.m. when his tire blew, according to Peterborough Fire and Rescue Chief Ed Walker, on the scene. The van veered off the road, colliding head-on into a tree, causing significant front-end damage to the vehicle. The driver sustained a leg injury, and was taken by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital. The injury did not appear to be life-threatening, according to Walker.

Route 124 was reduced to a single lane for about 20 minutes while the vehicle was removed.
