While the traditional ways to hear live music and see theater has been put on hold for the time being, musicians and organizations continue to keep the music playing with livestreamed concerts that music fans can enjoy from the comforts on their own house.
The new Monadnock Music At Home series will be showcasing live stream performances via Facebook Live and Zoom. This series is free and available to all at monadnockmusic.org. Music in the Time of Quarantine will feature musicians in solo, duo and trios from their own homes.
The first concert features Peterborough’s Tara Novak and Ciaran Nagle on Sunday, April 5 at 3 p.m. Nagle (Irish Tenor) and Novak (vocals, violin/fiddle) have been performing together since they met in 2005 on a bus at the beginning of a Christmas tour with Nagle’s show, the Three Irish Tenors. Sharing both a passion for Irish music and for the art of entertainment, they soon after decided to develop their group Ishna – a project which would allow for more in-depth exploration of Irish and folk repertoire, as well as providing an opportunity to showcase their vocal harmonies, Novak’s up-beat arrangements of Irish instrumental music, and new compositions written by the pair.
