I am pleased to hear that Peterborough is installing an electric car charging station this summer.
It makes a statement for the environment and fills a gap in the charging options in this region.
As far as people saying that free charging is a subsidy for wealthy Tesla owners, a used all-electric Nissan Leaf can be had for $8,000. The range is limited but with the new charging station, it is practical for local commuting and as a “Town” car. It should be low maintenance because of the simplicity of electric cars (no exhaust system!). I have owned a 2011 Leaf since 2013.
