The full closure of the Main Street Bridge is now scheduled to begin on April 13, a Monday.

The closure is scheduled to start at 7 a.m.

The bridge will not reopen again until the project is complete, the town said in a press release. The Main Street Bridge and Route 202 reconstruction work is expected to be a two-year project.

To help residents of the area, a dedicated website, was created by the town and is to be regularly updated throughout the duration of project.

A comprehensive sign package will be installed prior to the full bridge closure to help motorists navigate the bridge closure and access downtown Peterborough via alternate routes. In addition, GPS navigation/mapping services have been notified by the Town of Peterborough of the impending closure and are expected to be fully reflective of traffic pattern changes once the bridge is fully closed.

Staff is available to answer questions or address concerns relative to this project at the Peterborough Town House, 1 Grove St.
