Throughout the month of March, the Dublin Community Center will feature the artwork of Kate ODell. Her medium of choice is watercolor on Aquabord. The paintings retain the luminous quality that watercolor pigment is known for, and the Aquabord allows for lots of glazing and lifting, and making changes if necessary.

“I like to look at the world up close, being particularly interested in the various beings who inhabit this world. Faces are intriguing and demand attention to detail, beckoning the viewer to take a closer look and connect,” ODell said.

ODell began studying art 15 years ago, at the age of 50. Primarily self-taught, she also studied with watercolorist, Beth Patterson, for four years. Her work has appeared at Sharon Arts Center, Whistler House Museum, Adirondacks National Exhibit of American Watercolors and The View Gallery.

The opening reception will be Friday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The DubHub is located at 1123 Main Street in Dubin. For more information, email info@dublincommunitycenter.org.
