Andrea and Dilyon Burgoyne were marred Aug. 31, 2019 at Allrose Farm in Greenfield. Andrea shared what went into planning their nuptials.
What was the best part of your wedding?
Watching everything come together. And picking out all the dresses and tuxes
What was the most fun part of your planning?
Finding the decor and seeing how creative everyone can be.
What was the most difficult part of planning?
Getting all the major people hired because we planned it so short it was difficult to find people available on Labor Day weekend. It was very stressful.
Did you plan your own wedding or hire a wedding planner?
I did.
Who else was involved in your wedding planning?
My dad, Raymond Turgeon organized/planned all the hires and my mother in law, Meghan O’Neil helped with decor planning.
What was a unique feature of your wedding?
My mother-in-law made a big picture hanger out of chicken wire and put pictures of Dilyon and I up from the last nine years of our relationship and it was just so cool to see how much we have grown and changed together.
Did you partake in any special wedding traditions?
Not really. The only one was not seeing each other before the wedding including the night before. I rented a room at a hotel so I wouldn’t see him until the wedding at 4 p.m. Going from 6 a.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday felt a lot longer than it should have not seeing him.
Did anything not go according to plan?
A few things that were out of our control. But we just had to keep our spirits up and go forward. Everything turned out better than I could have imagined.
Did you have to go to any “plan B” from your original vision?
No. I never even had a plan A. It was more of a “well this works, let’s do it!”
If you had to do it again, would you change anything?
No, because it was a beautiful day and every bit of stress and anxiety and hardship made it into the special day it was.
How long did it take you to plan your wedding?
Four months. We got engaged on Easter in April and married in August.
Do you have any vendor recommendations?
Yes, Allrose Farm in Greenfield for venue; Daffodils Flowers in Jaffrey; Greenhouse Catering from Amherst; Mallory Lynn Photography from Gilford; JP Ann Poole from Hillsborough and DJ Ray Ray from Troy. They were all so amazing to work with especially in such a short notice wedding. Without them the day wouldn’t have been what it was. Also would like to thank David Bridal for quick delivery on the dresses and Country Bridal in Jaffrey for being so accommodating for the tuxes.
