Three people were injured, with one airlifted to the hospital, following a single-car crash on Nashua Road on Monday.
At about 4:10 p.m., a Nissan Xterra, driven by a Massachusetts woman, was traveling on Nashua Road towards the Temple Road intersection, when it left the roadway, going partially down a shallow embankment and striking a tree, Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker said on the scene.
The driver, as well as one passenger in the front seat and one in the back seat, all sustained injuries. None appear to be life-threatening, Walker said. All occupants were adults.
The two passengers were taken by ambulance to UMass Worcester. The driver was taken to a landing zone to take a medical helicopter to a nearby hospital.ย
What caused the crash is not yet known, Walker said.
